Emperor Annei, also known as Shikitsuhiko Tamademi no Mikoto, was the third Emperor of Japan, being born in 567 BCE to Emperor Suizei and Isuzuyori-hime. The Nihon Shoki states that he became heir to the throne in 549 BCE following his father’s death. Unfortunately, historical records of Annei are almost non-existent, as a result meaning that we do not know much about him, nor can we confirm his existence. However, it is heavily speculated that he passed away in 511 BCE at fifty-six years old.
